2020 Alibaba Global Mathematics Competition
2020 Alibaba Global Mathematic Competition includes 2 qualifying rounds and 1 final round. The finalists will be determined by the total score of the 2 qualifying rounds.
Qualifying Round (Online) - Completed
The results of the qualifying round and finalists will be available on April 10th, 2020. Please log in first and check your competition status under “ Profile”.
Question type: Mathematical questions that are close to real life.
Competition Rules: The competition is divided into two qualifying rounds. Each of the qualifying round has 4 questions. The finalists are selected based on the total points of the two rounds. For each of the qualifying rounds, participants will have 48 hours to answer the questions, during which they may save their answers and take a short break.
Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are supported. Adobe Flash must be enabled.
The final round is an individual online competition. It consists of four tracks of different subject areas:
➤ Algebra & Number Theory (5 problems)
➤ Geometry & Topology (5 problems)
➤ Analysis & Differential Equations (5 problems)
➤ Applied & Computational Mathematics (5 problems)
When the final round begins, we will ask you to select one major track and one minor track. The selection, once made, is final.
You can submit solutions to all the five problems in your major track. In the minor track, however, you can choose any of the five problems to solve but submit solutions to no more than two problems. Every problem is worth 20 points. You can obtain up to 100 points from your major track and up to 40 points from your minor track. The final awards are selected based on total points.
